Rocky Mountain National Park. West

around. The park features Trail Ridge Road, the highest continues highway in US
Trail Ridge is open Memorial Day
to Labor Day most of the time but can be closed do to weather. The road rises to 12,183 feet. Where snow drifts can be 28
feet deep. On the west side of the park the terrain is almost
completely different. Huge meadows abound and the Colorado River which
headwaters here, runs through the main valley. Just outside the park on the
west side is the
Village of Grand Lake. Deer, Elk, moose, coyote, bear, cougar and big horn sheep
call this park home.
