Black American West Museum Preserves the history and culture of those African American men and women who helped settle and develop the American West. Located in the former home of Dr. Justina Ford, the first Black woman doctor in Denver. Exhibits on African American cowboys including Bill Pickett. Call for hours and admission info. Link.

Buffalo Bill's Grave & Museum. Atop Lookout Mountain. Access from I-70 Exit onto Lookout Mountain Rd (Exit 256) Displays of memorabilia and equipment used in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show Link

Children's Museum Discover The Children's Museum of Denver, where interactive Playscapes, programs, and special events all make learning fun by engaging children, infant through age 8, to play, learn and explore. It is a place that ignites and fosters a love of learning that children will carry with them throughout life. Link

Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Come see the museum honoring Colorado sports legends. Open most Thurs.-Sat. from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Free. Also visit INVESCO Field at Mile High. Tours begin each half hour and are 75 minutes in length. This is your chance to see the 'back of the house' where the Broncos play. Adults $9, children and seniors $7, and groups $6. Link.

Colorado History Museum 1300 Broadway Denver. The Colorado Historical Society brings the unique character of Colorados past to life at this Colorado Museum Link

Denver Firefighters Museum. The Museum houses an extensive collection of artifacts, photographs and documents dating from 1866 to the present which relate to the history of firefighting. Educational programs focus on fire safety and prevention. Hands-on activities for children and adults. Private parties and birthday parties welcome. Summer hours 10-4. Winter hours 10-2. $3.00 for Adults, $2.00 for Children and Seniors. Link

Denver Museum of Miniatures The museum holds some of the finest exhibits of miniatures, dolls and toys. They have much to offer the discriminating collector or avid miniaturist. Link.

Forney Museum of Transportation. 4303 Brighton Blvd Denver. Anything on wheels. Many unique exhibits. Attraction is about a 45 minute drive south of Ft Collins. Link.

Gates Planetarium at Denver Nature & Science The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is the Rocky Mountain region’s leading resource for informal science education. A variety of exhibitions, programs, and activities help Museum visitors experience the natural wonders of Colorado, Earth, and the universe.  Link.

Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. 1275 19th St Denver. This museum is an innovative forum that can inspire and challenge your understanding of the art of out time. Link

Byers-Evans House Italianate house built in 1883 and restored to the 1912-1924 period. This Denver landmark reflects the character of two early and important Colorado pioneer families. Closed Mon. Buses welcome with reservation.  Link.

Molly Brown House Home of the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown, Titanic heroine, restored to its original Victorian splendor. All tours are guided and last 45 minutes. Group tours by reservation only; walk-ins welcome. Available for private events. Open Tues.-Sat. at 10 a.m.; Sun. at Noon; Open 7 days a week in June, July and August. Museo de las Americas The Museo de las Americas is the only museum in the Rocky Mountain Region focusing on the art, history, and culture of Latinos in the Americas from ancient times to the present. See beautiful Spanish Colonial art from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Pre-Columbian objects, contemporary works and much more! Link

Museum of Outdoor Arts A 100+ piece sculpture garden in City Center Englewood, Greenwood Plaza, and Hudson Gardens. Self-guided tours may be taken daily during daylight hours. Indoor Gallery, maps of the collection and regular openings and exhibitions. Office hours: Mon.-Thurs. 9 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Fri. 9:00 - 3:30 p.m. Light rail access. A synthesis of art and architecture, making art a part of everyday life.  Link

Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum  Thematic quilt exhibits change five times per year and feature both historic traditional quilts and contemporary art quilts. Exhibits for 2006 include Improvisation: An African American Tradition, Pictorial Visions, Aloha: Hawaiian Quilts, Spiritual Expression in Fiber, and Crazy Quilts.  Link

Ute Indian Museum The Ute Indian Museum offers one of the most complete collections and exhibits featuring the Ute peoples of Colorado & Utah. Colorful dioramas, changing exhibits and programs bring the history and culture of these American Indians together for all to learn and enjoy.  Link.

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum An extensive of collection of aircraft and related aviation and military exhibits preserving the history of the service men and women who served at Lowry AFB. 31 aircraft on display. Hours: M-Sat 10am-5pm and Sunday 12pm-5pm. Group rates and tours available. Main event space is 44,000 sq ft surrounded by a restored collection of historical aircraft and historical exhibit rooms.
